Please join us in beautiful Guelph for the Ontario Humanist Society (OHS) Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 21st and 22nd of 2018.

On the evening of Saturday, April 21st, you will have the opportunity to meet and get to know other OHS members at a restaurant (to be announced) that serves local fair. you can then enjoy an overnight stay (at a reduced rate) at the Holiday Inn at 601 Scottsdale Drive, which is within walking distance from the restaurant.

The AGM will begin the next morning at 9:00am at 42 Carden Street (in 10C Community Classroom) with a delicious breakfast and coffee/tea. The Community Classroom is a brand new space in downtown Guelph that is designed to strengthen connections, community resilience, and foster social change.

Professor Candace Johnson

At the AGM, we will have the opportunity to hear from Professor Candace Johnson about her incredible work in maternal health and reproductive rights around the world, and how it relates to Humanism. Prof. Johnson has won numerous award for her work on health care policy, social rights, and gender politics. Her latest book, Maternal Transition: A North-South Politics of Pregnancy and Childbirth (Routledge 2014 and 2016) is a comparative examination of maternal health preferences in Canada and beyond.
